1. The Original Helfer(Helper)- Holds 3 Balls, No Need To Reload!

No other remote reward system comes close to the original!  Highly recommended for off-lead scent detection, schutzhund exercises and many other dog training situations requiring a second helper. Machine is pre-loaded with three heavy high-grade 3″ rubber balls. No need to interrupt the flow of training, drops one ball at a time with a push of a button up to 400′ away from the unit.

It is proven that dogs learn the quickest repeating behavior in sets of three. Training dogs using positive motivation without the use of force is not a new concept. It is common knowledge among trainers that behavior established by rewarding specific actions consistently (operant conditioning) produces a more willing dog with stronger desire to repeat the work.

The reward for correct behavior needs to be given to the dog within two seconds for the association with behavior and reward to create a reliable habit. Up until now training dogs using purely motivational techniques has only been possible at a fairly close proximity to the handler because of this reason. The use of long lines and remote training collars are then used to to extend the trainer’s area of influence. Many times the introduction of compulsion with the inability to reinforce positive behavior can be a set-back in the training program.

The Original Helfer is a fantastic training tool as it gives the trainer the ability to continue using positive motivation to shape behavior even from a long distance. Utilizing The Original Helfer it is now possible to withhold the reward from the dog until the behavior the trainer desires is shown. The moment the dog shows the proper action the trainer can reward the dog from a distance with a simple push of a button. Truly fun and exciting way to train dogs with amazing results.

Unit comes with three rubber balls, transmitter and wall charger.

3. Grip & Drive Development Training for Puppies

This video shows how to introduce young puppies to protection work. Puppies from eight to sixteen weeks old are shown. Regardless of their age, all puppies with natural drive will respond to the method demonstrated. Introduction to the helper at an early age is important. If a puppy’s drive is fulfilled only by its handler, it will require more stimulation from the helper when the dog is older. Imprinting active behavior towards someone else will encourage the dog to show maximum power with minimum agitation as it matures. The techniques used can be applied to every puppy no matter what kind of protection work they will be doing as an adult. This is full of valuable information for all ages of puppies and dogs starting protection training. Professionally edited and produced. Runtime approximately 45 minutes.

Additional DescriptionMore Details

2. Building drive for the prey object

7. Protection Training on the Tie-Out Pole

The training in this video shows ways to create balanced drive levels. It demonstrates how to transition clearly between aggression and prey drive. It also shows how to build grips and increase aggression in the guarding phase while maintaining handler control. Training on the tie-out pole gives both the handler and helper the best advantage to build a solid foundation of drive and control. The helper can work on grip development and aggression on the tie-out without having to be concerned with the handler and dog moving from their original position. The handler can help his dog to transition from obedience to active aggression as he does not have to be concerned about holding the back-tie line in place. Several dogs of different temperaments are worked, all with varying needs. Whenever a specific area in training needs to be addressed, it is always good to “put ‘em back on the pole”. Professionally filmed, edited and produced. Approximately one hour of exciting protection work and techniques.

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Increasing drive through frustration, missing of the sleeve. Reinforcing proper guarding with bite rewards. Building firm and full grips using straight back pulling techniques. Keeping the dog’s feet off the helper to insure the dog maintains constant bite pressure. Giving proper stick threat signals for correct attack bite timing.
